LOCAL

Although our website highlights our international work, we are also active within the broader Benelux region. Organizations who meet us during trainings in this region are sometimes surprised to learn that we operate close to home as well.

Our Benelux partnerships span a wide range of sectors: civil society organizations, educational institutions, municipal bodies, and various community-focused initiatives. While we collaborate with many respected national stakeholders, some of these relationships are not listed publicly in order to maintain appropriate boundaries with certain NGOs and governmental entities.

By sharing more about our regional involvement, we aim to provide clarity: the reason you may encounter us in a Dutch training or project is simple—we are trusted locally, as well as internationally. Our work in the Benelux is an important part of what we do, and it strengthens the global perspective we bring to every assignment.

We value our long-term partnerships, including but not limited to:

SECTORS IN WHICH WE WORK

Secondary Schools
In partnership with FIAC and G4S, we provide tailormade trainings for school personnel. Our approach is interactive and practical, tailored to the specific needs of school staff and the context in which they work.
From teachers to pedagogical concierges, and other supporting personnel, we provide training courses such as:

  • De-escalation Trainings
  • Dealing with Aggression Trainings
  • Crisis Management Trainings
  • Resilience Trainings
  • School Safety Trainings
  • Pedagogical Concierge Trainings

Social Partners in Society
We provide various trainings for organizations such as G4S, GOM, and IVM, focusing on undesirable behavior, physical resilience, and communication skills in specific locations, for example, Schiphol Airport. These interactive trainings include simulations, conversation preparation, and practical exercises. Participants learn how to handle challenging situations, recognize behaviors, and evaluate conversations. Specific learning objectives include increasing knowledge of norms and values, appropriate language use, and providing tools for aftercare and reflection.

Civil Society and Public Security
We work with local civil society institutions to help strengthen resilience and capacity to carry out their critical work in the public sector. Examples of our support and trainings include:

  • Crisis Management Trainings
  • Predictive Profiling
  • Subversive Crime
  • Hostage Negotiation Trainings
  • Hostage Negotiation Support
  • Evacuation Support
  • Resilience and De-Escalation Trainings
  • Aftercare

Asylum Seeker Centers
As Global Risk Advice, we have been supporting (I)NGOs with their work in IDP/refugee camps all over the world. In the past years, we have noted that some of these challenges are also a reality in asylum seeker centers in Europe.

Our unique intercultural and international approach has been requested throughout Western Europe to support with training of staff and with the development and advice on policy and protocols. Examples include:

• Policy and protocol development for the safety- and security of staff and residents of the centers
• De-escalation- and dealing with aggression trainings for staff
• Coaching of teams and individuals

Healthcare
We conduct programs on physical resilience specifically for the healthcare sector, to help staff manage stress, maintain well-being, and respond effectively to challenging situations in their work environment. We also develop and deliver crisis management trainings tailored for healthcare settings. These trainings cover emergency preparedness, de-escalation techniques, and protocols for handling aggression or violence, ensuring both staff and patient safety.

We support healthcare organizations in creating and refining safety and security policies. This includes risk assessments, protocol development for staff and resident safety, and coaching for teams and individuals.

SECO Institute and Security Academy
Together with SECO Institute and Security Academy, we offer specialized training programs and certification tracks in crisis management, information security, and security governance. These trainings combine theory with practical exercises and are aimed at developing competencies in crisis communication and managing reputational risks.

Team NL | Olympics and Paralympics
We proudly support the Olympic and Paralympic TeamNL as security coordinators for the NOC*NSF during the Summer and Winter Games.

Higher Education and Applied Sciences
We provide practical safety trainings for students at higher education institutions, such as The Hague University of Applied Sciences. We tailor mini-HEATs and modules covering travel preparation, stress management, corruption, and humanitarian scenarios. The trainings are tailored for students taking a minor in NGO security and include interactive skill stations and scenario-based exercises.

Internships
In partnership with various universities in the Netherlands, such as the University of Groningen, and institutions in Germany, we welcome interns to conduct a research trajectory or practicum for their studies related to (inter)national security, communications, crisis management, humanitarian and development, or other related fields.
